Thrifting
Chiara and her boyfriend Danilo love to go to thrift stores looking for old cameras and accessories. Sometimes they are lucky and find items in excellent condition, sometimes they decide to save damaged and broken cameras to give them a new life, repairing and restoring them. Often people decide to give Chiara and Danilo their unused cameras, amazed by their unusual passion.
Restoration
The restoring process consists in several delicate and long steps: Repairing phase, testing phase, cleaning phase, repainting phase, polishing phase and materials treatment phase. Chiara specializes in the aesthetic restoration phase while Danilo specializes in repairing and testing phases. Restoring objects from other eras gives immense satisfaction and makes proud to keep past alive.
Collection
After the restoration, the cameras are included in the collection and catalogued in a digital archive organized by brand, model, year of production, country of production, type of film and selling price of the time. The cameras they already own in the collection are put up for sale as restored, tested and in working condition. There are approximately 200 cameras in the collection.
